Description:
The Duelist Alliance unites the strongest pairs in the GamerXpress YGO Community for an intense 2v2 showdown. Strategy, synergy, and teamwork will decide who claims the title of Alliance Champions.

Rules & Structure:

-Matches follow official Konami TCG rules with Tag Duel format adjustments.
-Each team shares 8000 Life Points.
-Teammates alternate turns and coordinate plays.
-Communication is allowed, but only one player may act per turn.
-Both teammates must submit their decks before the deadline.
-No deck changes allowed after submission.
-Each team may request one deck check per match.
-Head Judge has final authority on all rulings.
-Matches are 80 minutes; if no winner is declared, both teams are disqualified unless ruled otherwise.
-Teams must use physical cards and display a visible life counter on stream.
-Teammates can NOT use the same deck.

Purpose:
To celebrate teamwork and competitive spirit — the Duelist Alliance rewards not just skill, but the bond between partners who duel as one.

⚔️ DUELIST ALLIANCE — OFFICIAL RULES ⚔️

  1. Format & Structure
    -2v2 format — Best-of-One match.
    -Matches follow official Konami TCG rules with Tag Duel format adjustments.
    -Each team shares 8000 Life Points.
    -Teammates alternate turns and coordinate plays.
    -Communication is allowed, but only one player may act per turn.
    -Turn Order: The next turn must always be taken by a player from the opposing team, unless a card or monster effect prevents them from taking their turn.
    -Matches are 80 minutes long.
    -If no winner is declared after time expires, both teams are disqualified unless the judge rules otherwise.
    -Determining who goes first: Only one player from each team rolls a die (or flips a coin). The team with the higher result chooses whether to go first or second.
    -Deck Variety Rule: Both teammates must use different decks. Teams using identical or near-identical deck lists will be disqualified.
  2. Deck Submission
    -Both teammates must submit their decks before the deadline (Jan 9th @ 11:59 PM CST).
    -Decks must be submitted in the #deck-submission channel on Discord.
    -No deck changes are allowed after the submission deadline.
    -Each team may request one deck check per match.
  3. Match Conduct
    -Players must use physical cards during streamed matches.
    -Only one player per match is required to display a visible life counter on stream.
    -Players are responsible for tracking their team’s Life Points accurately.
    -Match time pauses during judge mediation and resumes after a ruling is given.
    -Unsportsmanlike conduct, cheating, or harassment will result in immediate disqualification.
  4. Judging & Rulings
    -The Head Judge has final authority on all rulings.
    -Judges may pause or restart matches if necessary.
    -Any disputes must be reported immediately to a judge before the next round begins.
  5. Prizes & Rewards
    -1st Place Team: $35+ prize (varies, mostly sealed product).
    -Prizes are awarded after final results are confirmed.
    -Prize will be shipped to the designated Team Captain within 14 days of the tournament.
    -Both teammates must complete their matches to qualify for prizes.
  6. Streaming & Visibility
    -Matches are hosted on Discord.
    -Select matches will be streamed to TikTok Live.
    -Players must ensure stable video and clear visibility of cards and life counters.
    -Failure to maintain visibility may result in a match loss or disqualification.
  7. Sportsmanship & Integrity
    -Respect all players, judges, and staff.
    -Any form of cheating, stalling, or rule manipulation will not be tolerated.
