From badass pirates to princess roleplayers, Genshin Impact’s Electro characters are an eclectic bunch - but who comes out on top?
5) Beidou
Beidou is a Claymore-wielding pirate from Liyue, known as the Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean due to her incredible strength. She is renowned for having slain the leviathan Haishan without any aid from a vision - an incredible feat!
In combat, Beidou has an excellent kit of strong and unique abilities. Her Elemental Skill allows her to shield herself, absorb some hits and then counterattack, rewarding frame-perfect timing with huge damage. Beidou’s Elemental Burst increases her resistance to interruption and reduces her damage taken, while infusing her attacks with Electro damage that can jump between opponents. These skills make her particularly strong against big groups of enemies, especially when paired with her huge, swinging Claymore attacks.
We recommend pairing Beidou with a character who can produce lots of Energy for her, like Fischl. Beidou will want a 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set, as Energy Recharge is crucial for upkeeping her very powerful Elemental Burst. For a weapon, we recommend the Luxurious Sea Lord (if you have it!) or the Akuoumaru. For a slightly stronger gacha-reliant option, we recommend the Beacon of the Reed Sea weapon instead.
4) Kuki Shinobu
Added in Version 2.7, Kuki Shinobu is a beloved character. While the rest of her family work as shrine maidens, Kuki Shinobu chose her own path as a member of the Arataki Gang. She helps keep Arataki Itto in check, keeping everyone out of trouble and resolving the gang’s legal issues.
In game, Kuki Shinobu is an off-field support character who focuses on dealing Electro damage, as well as healing. A lot of her kit damages her and gains buffs from her being below 50% HP, making her a somewhat self-sacrificial character like Hu Tao. Kuki Shinobu’s Elemental Skill cuts her own HP to create a Grass Ring of Sanctification which deals Electro damage to enemies and heals the active character. Her Elemental Burst, Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite, creates a circular field on the ground that deals continuous Electro damage to enemies, lasting longer if Kuki Shinobu’s HP is 50% or lower.
Kuki Shinobu is best when combined with Dendro characters for Hyperbloom or Aggravate reactions. We recommend equipping her with a 4-piece Guilded Dreams set to really boost her Elemental Mastery. For a weapon, we suggest the Iron Sting as it boosts Elemental Mastery and really enhances her Elemental Reactions. Freedom-Sworn is a great gacha-reliant option instead for the same reasons.
3) Yae Miko
Yae Miko is the Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma, as well as the boss of the Yae Publishing House. Due to being a kitsune, Yae Miko has lived for hundreds of years, and has been a loyal companion to Ei in that time.
In combat, Yae Miko fights quite uniquely. Her Elemental Skill allows her to dash forward and leave behind a Sesshou Sakura, a small fox-themed object that deals Electro damage to nearby enemies. Miko can possess up to three of these Sesshou Sakura at any time. Her Elemental Burst, Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin, creates a huge strike of lightning dealing large amounts of Electro damage. This ability will destroy all of her Sesshou Sakura, adding an additional strike of lightning for each one that is destroyed.
For Miko’s artifacts, we recommend a 4-piece Gilded Dreams to boost her Elemental Mastery, allowing her to contribute huge damage to Elemental Reactions such as Electro-Charged, Aggravate and Hyperbloom. As for a weapon, we recommend the Widsith on her, as all its effects are incredibly impactful for her. As for 5-star gacha weapons, we recommend Kagura’s Verity, her signature weapon.
2) Fischl
Behold! The Prinzessin der Verurteilung! Fischl is a very quirky individual you’ll meet in Mondstadt, roleplaying as a princess from a fantasy story. She speaks very formally, which can lead to confusion, but no worries! Her raven companion, Oz, will translate to plainer speech if Fischl is getting a little carried away.
As one of the game’s best off-field supports, the majority of Fischl’s combat contributions will be using her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst and then switching to a different character. Fischl’s Elemental Skill deploys Oz onto the field, who will proceed to attack nearby opponents with Electro damage. Oz generates a ton of Elemental Particles, allowing Fischl to make an excellent ‘battery’, charging up her teammates’ Elemental Bursts. Fischl’s own Elemental Burst, Midnight Phantasmagoria, causes Fischl to take Oz’s form and gain a movement speed buff, dealing Electro damage to nearby enemies. The end of the Elemental Burst will deploy Oz, or reset his duration if he was already on the field.
Fischl just got a huge buff with the release of Fontaine within the Golden Troupe artifact set. The 4-piece set gives her a huge 70% Elemental Skill damage bonus when she’s off-field, which is where almost all of her damage comes from in the first place. For a weapon, we recommend Alley Hunter, which boosts Fischl’s damage when she’s off-field, which she will be most of the time. For a 5-star weapon, try the Polar Star with its great Elemental Mastery stat.
1) Raiden Shogun
The Electro Archon herself has to top our list of Electro characters! Since the Raiden Shogun’s release in Version 2.1, she has continually ranked among the game’s strongest characters and one of its most popular, too.
Within Genshin Impact’s combat, the Raiden Shogun is an excellent off-field support, with her Elemental Skill adding Electro Damage to all attacks. After activating her Elemental Skill, Raiden Shogun can gain stacks of Resolve, which power up her Elemental Burst. For her burst, the Raiden Shogun draws the Musou no Hitotachi blade and deals high damage by slashing with it, generating energy for the rest of the party.
The Raiden Shogun pairs very nicely with characters that can create big Electro-based Elemental Reactions, such as Electro-Charged and Hyperbloom, since her Electro application is so strong. For her artifacts, we recommend a 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set. The Raiden Shogun has a few great weapon options, but for free-to-play players we recommend The Catch, which you can obtain from the fishing shops. For a gacha-reliant weapon, her signature weapon Engulfing Lightning will do the job nicely.
