Good Game Glam: Looks inspired by Link from The Legend of Zelda with e.l.f. Cosmetics

Hello Paidians, and welcome to the recap of our Good Game Glam with e.l.f Cosmetics!

Every first Monday of each month, e.l.f. Cosmetics’ Twitch channel (elfYou) features a stream from e.l.f. Cosmetics’ Global Makeup Artist Anna Bynum and myself, Stephanie Peloza, Paidia Gaming’s Head Narrative Designer! Together, we host giveaways and create looks inspired by gaming icons and legends.

This month’s focus was Tears of the Kingdom, in celebration of its wildly incredible launch and the wacky creations gamers are building with their newfound Zonai powers. Our looks are based off of Link’s new arm in this iteration of Zelda, pulling on its bright turquoise and golden band colour scheme and designs.

For this quest, Anna was tasked with creating a glam and wearable take on the look, where I made a wild, more theatrical version with the same ideas. Below I'll share the steps each of us took and list all the products we used (available at elfcosmetics.com), so you can recreate these looks too!

To start, we each primed with the Power Grip Primer and utilised the beautiful Halo Glow Liquid Filter (shade 5 Medium/Tan for Anna, shade 2 Fair/Light for myself) with the Hydrating Camo Concealer for our base, creating an even and glowy canvas for the rest of the look. Then, Anna lifted her brows with Soap Brow and the Brow Lift Applicator, creating the perfect laminated brow while I opted for the Ultra Precise Brow Pencil (Brunette) for my own!

Let’s begin with Anna’s striking electric liner look!

Anna's Electric Liner Finalized Look

Expertly using a combination of three different Bite Size Eyeshadows, Anna starts with warm golden hues, placing the first orange matte shade from Pumpkin Pie in the crease and inner and outer corners to create depth. In the centre of her lid, she uses her finger to apply the gold shade from Hot Jalapeño to create a rounded effect. Then, to define her top and bottom lashline Anna uses the deep brown shade from Cream & Sugar with a precision brush to frame her eyes.

Next, some key ingredients: Anna places e.l.f.’s Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in 24K Gold on the inner and outer corners of her eyes to draw in light, and then combines the No Budge Cream Eyeshadow in Oasis with the limited edition Game Up Eye Win Eyeliner Pot in FTW to create that bright turquoise shade of Link’s Zonai arm! Then, she applies this in a graphic liner style with vibrant winged shapes in the front and back of her eyes with the No Budge Brush Trio Kit.

To top off her eyes, Anna adheres three small rhinestones along her crease and three more along her lower lashline before applying her favourite mascara: Lash’N Roll!

Finally, finishing touches: e.l.f.’s new trio of Halo Glow Blush, Contour, and Highlight Beauty Wands (Rosé You Slay for blush, Medium/Tan for contour, Liquid Gold for highlight)! Anna expertly uses this to define her features to catch the light with a gorgeous, warm glow! And last but not least, as she loves to do, Anna gave the whole elfYou community a sneak peek at an unreleased and upcoming e.l.f. Cosmetics lip product: a beautiful plumping nude lipstick.

Make sure to tune in when Anna is live on the elfYou Twitch channel for more sneak peeks like this!

Next, for my more theatrical take on this look.

Stef's Theatrical final look

For eyes, I started with mixing e.l.f.’s No Budge Cream Eyeshadow in shades Wispy Cloud, Oasis, and Sahara into that perfect bright turquoise from Link’s Zonai arm, applying over my lid and blending gently into the crease and a soft wing toward the back of my eye. I love this product because it has a built-in primer and it’s TRULY no-budge!

Then, over this base I apply Evergreen from the 18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette right along my lashline and outer corner, to bring more definition to this look. After that, I took to the Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in shade Disco Queen (but Mermaid Shimmy would be great too!) to bring light and dimension to the lid. To define the lower lashline, I gently blended some of the original turquoise mixture below my eye and finished them off with Lash’N Roll mascara!

For the crowning jewel of this look, I go back to the No Budge Cream Eyeshadow in Sahara and begin imitating the banding designs from Link’s arm, drawing the linework with a small precision brush. My favourite part of these designs is the closed eye on the forehead, throwing to a special (but spoilery) character in Tears of the Kingdom! To bring more light and attention to these designs, I use the Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in Copper Pot along the edges of the yellow linework to create dimension and depth.

To finish off the look, I lined my lips with Love Triangle Lip Filler Liner (Mauve), then finished up with e.l.f.’s O Face Satin Lipstick (Dirty Talk) - and we’re done!

A striking glam take by Anna, and my theatrical take! You can rewatch the VOD here. Share your own Tears of the Kingdom inspired look and tag @PaidiaGaming & @elfcosmetics on social media. We’d love to see what you create!
