With lots of exciting banners on the horizon, here are 7 hidden ways to earn Primogems in Genshin Impact you might not know about.
HoYoLab Check-Ins
Have you ever wished Genshin Impact had log-in bonuses outside of events? We have amazing news - it does! HoYoverse’s official forum site, HoYoLAB, also has a daily check-in page. This allows players to log in with their Genshin Impact account and claim rewards for each consecutive day they log in. These rewards consist of Weapon and Character level up materials, Mora, Food, and best of all: Primogems!
On the 4th, 11th and 18th days of check-in each month, you can earn 20 Primogems just for checking in on HoYoLAB. While this isn’t a huge amount, when paired with all the other rewards it’s great value for very little effort! You will also earn 100 Primogems the first time you check in.
You can access HoYoLAB’s check-in page here
Web Events
Chances are, you’re already familiar with Genshin Impact’s events - they happen frequently, introduce fun new games modes and give a lot of Primogems. However, these events are usually accompanied by Web Events - online, browser based games that give rewards, often including Primogems! These usually contain fun, simple games or puzzles associated with an area or character from the game. For example, there was an event featuring Childe where players would go ice fishing.
You can access Genshin Impact’s Web Events through the ‘Special Event’ tab in the Paimon menu.
Playing the TCG
The new permanent game mode, Genius Invokation TCG (Trading Card Game), is so much fun and provides a fresh, enjoyable new activity for when you get tired of beating up Hillichurls. However, did you know you can also earn Primogems by playing the TCG? There are two ways to do this, the first being by increasing your Player Level. Not to be confused with your Adventure Rank, your Player Level increases as you gain Experience Points from playing the TCG. Each time you level up, you’ll net a nice 60 Primogems.
As well as this, you can gain Primogems through the TCG Player’s Manual, a progression system with quests related to the card game. Upon completing these quests, you’ll earn resources for the TCG, such as cards, card backs and even Primogems! Make sure to craft a strong deck so you can become a top tier TCG player and grind out those Primogems!
Spiral Abyss
Genshin Impact’s main endgame content lies in the Spiral Abyss, where players can battle hordes of enemies. The main ‘corridor’ of Spiral Abyss contains 8 levels, gradually increasing in difficulty and including one-time rewards. After players defeat the 8th level, they will unlock the Abyssal Moon Spire - four floors of increasing difficulty, culminating in floor 12, the hardest fight in the game.
Each floor has three time limits in which it can be defeated, with less time taken leading to a greater set of rewards. Players who can get nine stars (beating each section in the fastest time) will earn 150 Primogems per floor, totalling up to 600 Primogems for all four floors. Unlike the Corridor, the Abyssal Moon Spire resets every two weeks, often with new sets of enemies to fight. Make sure to plan out a strong team of characters in order to clutch out a victory in the Spiral Abyss! Checking Your Mail
Everybody loves receiving mail, right? Especially when you get fun packages! Thankfully, Genshin Impact has lots in the way of fun mail, especially after a version update. Since the developers have to take the servers offline for a few hours to update them to the new version, players receive compensation in their mail directly after an update. This is usually 100 Primogems per hour the servers were down, which can easily amount to a few pulls on the banner of your choice.
This isn’t the only time Primogems might show up in your mailbox, however - Genshin Impact often gives away Primogems for events, such as the game winning a notable award or hitting a certain number of downloads. These often reward players with several hundred Primogems, so make sure you keep an eye on your mail in the game! You can access your mailbox on the side bar of the Paimon menu by selecting the icon that looks like an envelope.
Redemption Codes
Just over a week before every new version launch, HoYoverse hold a Special Program livestream showing off some of the exciting new content in the upcoming update. In each of these livestreams, there are three brief intermissions showing codes that can be redeemed for rewards in the game. These codes always give 200 primogems each, alongside some Weapon and Character level up materials. Every livestream has new codes, meaning you can get 600 Primogems for free every 5-6 weeks!
These promotional codes expire quite quickly, so make sure that you keep an eye on Genshin Impact’s social media to see when there will be a Special Program livestream! HoYoverse will also occasionally release redeemable codes through their social media or collaborations.

The Serenitea Pot
Unlocked after the Liyue storyline, the Serenitea Pot is kind of like Genshin’s version of The Sims - you can decorate a huge island and invite your playable characters to chill there. Your Serenitea Pot has a level that will increase as you gain experience from create new furniture, with each level granting the player 60 Primogems.
However, this isn’t the only way to get Primogems from your Serenitea Pot - as you create furniture, you will also be able to purchase ‘Furnishing Sets’. These are schematics for a furniture layout that are enjoyed by several characters. If you place a Furnishing Set into your Serenitea Pot and invite a character who enjoys that set, you can talk to them and receive 20 Primogems. You can see which characters enjoy each Furnishing Set by checking in the menu: each character has 2 favorite furnishing sets.
